About Us
Grace Ridge Retirement Community is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community owned and managed by UNC Health Blue Ridge. Situated on a beautiful 52-acre campus in Morganton, NC, our community includes 121 independent living apartments, 27 independent living cottages, plus a full continuum of care, including assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing in our on-site Health Care Center. In addition, we offer a full range of amenities and services designed to support a fulfilling retirement lifestyle.

A rich
History
Dr. Jean Ervin recommended to the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Morganton that a committee consider establishing a retirement home in Morganton.
Purchased adjacent land on the corner of Lenoir Road and Kirksey Drive.
Mountain House opens on Oct. 26 and the first residents move in.
New health care center opens.
Grace Healthcare System acquires Mountain House Retirement Residence. The name is changed to Grace Ridge Retirement Community.
Grace Ridge becomes integrated with Blue Ridge HealthCare. Groundbreaking for Grace Ridge expansion (30 additional apartment units and 34 new beds in the health care center).
Grace Ridge receives its first of three consecutive five-year accreditations (2006, 2011, 2016) from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities/Continuing Care Accreditation Commission.
Grace Ridge partners with Burke Hospice and Palliative Care and ADAPT to offer the Memory Café.Grace Ridge becomes integrated with Blue Ridge HealthCare.
Grace Ridge celebrates its 30th anniversary.
North Renovation adds new amenities, including the Mountain View Café and patio, beauty salon, and independent living clinic.

Awards & Accolades
UNC Grace Ridge Morrison Healthcare won Account of the Year for the Morrison Healthcare O'Brian Division. Grace Ridge Dining Services is phenomenal, and the team is very deserving of this award. Our Dining Services was chosen out of 250 accounts. This recognition was presented to Trudi Nowlin, Dining Services Director, and the team. We are proud to further announce that our Dining Services team is one of the top five accounts in the running for Morrison Healthcare National Account of the Year award!
