HEALTH AND WELLNESS
The key to healthy aging and quality of life is wellness in all forms – physical, intellectual, social, vocational, emotional and spiritual. That’s why every activity, program and event at Grace Ridge enhances at least one aspect of your overall well-being, so you can truly enjoy an active, fulfilling retirement lifestyle.
Through on-site programs, our affiliation with Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge and a complimentary membership to Phifer Wellness Center, our residents participate in year-round wellness activities that lead to better senior health.
Plus, you’ll enjoy complimentary membership to Mimosa Hills Golf Club, a private, full-service club ranked as one of the top golf facilities in the Carolinas. The 1929 Donald Ross-designed original is located just 10 minutes away from Grace Ridge.
Keeping residents healthy and independent remains our top priority at Grace Ridge. To meet that goal, we host annual health screenings, provide nutritional counseling and offer routine clinical services – from flu shots to blood pressure checks – for convenience and added peace of mind.
Fitness for All Ages
Fitness at both Grace Ridge and nearby Phifer Wellness Center can keep anybody strong and flexible. In-house wellness and fitness programs include yoga and Ageless Grace – exercises based on everyday movements and designed for all ages and abilities. Phifer Wellness Center, the largest facility in Burke County, features a 25-yard heated pool, racquetball courts, massage therapy, sauna and whirlpool to relax after an invigorating workout. At Mimosa Golf and Country Club, you’ll find an immaculate golf course, tennis courts and fine dining options.
There’s also ample opportunities to step outdoors for fresh air and invigorating activities: trails leading to stunning bluffs and waterfalls, clear lakes for canoeing, greenways, and mountain overlooks.
Just steps from our door, you’ll find Catawba Meadows Park, complete with a municipal greenway that meanders along the picturesque Catawba River. In addition to special seasonal events, the park houses a 17-hole disc golf course, sand volleyball courts, softball and baseball fields and picnic shelters.
