Book Lovers Thrive at Grace Ridge Retirement Community

When book lovers are young, they think “I can’t wait to retire so I can read all day.” Well, that day has arrived. You’ve retired and you have time to read. If you want to share your love of books and discuss the books you’ve read, Grace Ridge Silver Star Readers group is for you!

Living at Grace Ridge Retirement Community means joining this book club is convenient. You don’t have to drive to the meetings. You don’t have to clean up your house before a group arrives for discussion. We meet in public spaces around the complex.

This book club meets monthly. This month (June), we’re reading “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova. We’ve already selected books for the coming month as well:

  • July: “Still Life” by Louise Penny
  • August: “The Bean Trees” by Barbara Kingsolver
  • September: “J. Alfred Prufrock” by Corinne Holt Sawyer and a trip to the West Jefferson Literary Festival

We always welcome new members to the group!

Of course retirement living at Grace Ridge Retirement Community isn’t all about taking it easy. Our location in Morganton, North Carolina means we are a hub for active seniors as well. More on that in a future post.
